The first President's and National Executive (NE) and member forum for 2023 was on last night. There was good atendance and exchange of ideas. There were 14 attendees (of 74) members which is a good start. The NE presented information on plans for 2023, costs of running ARPCBI, and the new website. Members raised issues on a number of topics but it was clear that marketing and breed promotion are key issues for members. The NE has plans for one or two campaigns during 2023. At this stage they are pencilled in for April and September. In the first instance the NE, with the assistance of some skilled members, will need to prepare material that can be used for promotion.
Other topics covered included the ARPCBI structure - is it still the right one for a modern breed society? (Members are encouraged to leave comments in the members forum on their views on the existing constitution.) Synchronising website and socal media activities, posting rights for official facebook pages, improvements to the members map, and the need for more data on animals and breed performance, were also raised.
We look forward to an ongoing exchange of idea via the website, social media and in person at later forums.
